On the past November 15th 2022, I joined CMUP as a Pos-Doctoral researcher working in the areas of algebra and computational mathematics. I am a recent PhD in Mathematics, having defended my thesis last April at the Universidade de Aveiro, under the supervision of Maria Elisa Fernandes. Before that, I was an undergraduate and Master in Biochemistry at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, working with António E. N. Ferreira and Carlos Cordeiro.
My research interests are in algebraic and geometric combinatorics, and group theory, particularly the study of abstract polytopes, (hyper)maps and, more recently, coset geometries from Coxeter groups. One of my main lines of research is in the classification of all possible degrees of faithful transitive permutation representations of polytopes and toroidal maps. Also, with my biochemistry background, I have also been interested in studying the process of dissassembly of a virus capsid using a mathematical and computational approach. More recently, I have become interested in compiling some of the functions I have been using to study polytopes and toroidal maps into a package for GAP.
