On quantization and the classical variational principle for the metric mean dimension

This talk concerns entropy-dimensional concepts recently developed in order to estimate the complexity of systems with infinite topological entropy. I will motivate the search for variational principles and explain why we can understand this problem more clearly, and solve it, by considering the quantization of measures. This is joint work with Maria Carvalho.
